AIT Day 2010: Alumni Homecoming, and AIT Hall of Fame

To celebrate and honor its illustrious history and alumni, AIT will stage its ‘AIT Day 2010’ on September 8 this year. The special event will take place at AIT’s home campus in Pathumthani, Thailand on the Institute’s first birthday following its Golden Jubilee year.

Topping the list of special activities will be a Special Homecoming and Open House to welcome many of AIT’s 17,000 alumni back to their alma mater. The spotlight will shine that day on a select group of alumni to be individually inducted into a permanent AIT Hall of Fame, in recognition of their exemplary career achievements to their respective countries and region, AIT Vice President for Resources Development, Prof. Worsak Kanok-Nukulchai announced this week at the Institute Forum.

“Each inductee will receive a Hall of Fame Medal,” said Prof. Worsak Kanok-Nukulchai, who added that their photos and citations would be permanently displayed at a highly visible place on campus.

The AIT Hall Of Fame would be developed and final inductees will be decided by a blue-ribbon panel of judges to include past AIT presidents, executive committee members and provosts.

Although AIT Day 2010 is still in its planning stages, organizers have proposed staging a number of high profile activities for senior alumni and the AIT community to enjoy, Prof. Worsak said.
