Dr Bhaskar R Nikam joins as Visiting Faculty Member
Dr. Bhaskar Ramchandra Nikam of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has joined AIT as Visiting Faculty Member. He is currently serving as a Scientist/Engineer ‘SE’ in the Water Resources Department of Indian Institute of Remote Sensing, ISRO, Dehradun, India.
Dr. Bhaskar completed Bachelor’s in Technology (Agricultural Engineering) from Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth (MPKV), Rahuri, India; and his Master’s in Technology (Agricultural Engineering) with major in Irrigation and Drainage Engineering from G. B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar, India. He received his PhD in the field of Water Resources Development and Management from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Roorkee, India.
His research interest are Hydrological Modeling using Geo-spatial Technology, Water Resources Management, Irrigation Water Management, Retrieval of Hydrological Parameters using Remote Sensing Data, Drought Monitoring, and Assessment and Prediction.
Dr. Nikam has been seconded by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India to AIT, and shall be deputed during the January 2016 semester.
