AIT alumnus appointed Rector of Ubon Ratchathani Rajabhat University

AIT alumnus Thamarak La-Ongnual has been appointed Rector of Ubon Ratchathani Rajabhat University. He received the Royal Command on 18 March 2017.

Thamarak La-Ongnual


Associate Professor Mr. Thamarak graduated with a Master’s in Agriculture and Food Engineering in 1994 from AIT’s School of Environment, Resources and Development (SERD). He was a recipient of the Royal Thai Government (RTG) scholarship at AIT.

A native of  Lampang Province, Thailand, he received his Bachelor’s Degree from Maejo University in 1987. He started his teaching career at Ubon Ratchathani Teacher’s College (former name of UBRU) in 1989 where he worked in several academic positions as former Vice President, former Dean of Faculty of Agriculture, and former Director of Students Affairs Office.

Currently, two Rectors of Thai Universities are AIT alumni. Dr. Kittichai Triratanasirichai, who is the President of Khon Kaen University, graduated with a Master's in Agricultural Engineering from AIT in 1984.
