Mumbai victims remembered at AIT vigil

The Asian Institute of Technology was deeply saddened and shocked by the indiscriminate terrorist attack in Mumbai recently. Such violence is extremely hard to comprehend and the close ties that AIT enjoys with the Government of India renders this tragedy even more poignant.
On behalf of AIT, President Said Irandoust expressed his deepest sympathies to the families of the victims and stressed the Institute’s solidarity with the people and Government of India at this difficult time.
The president along with faculty members, staff and students also paid homage to the hundreds of victims in Mumbai at a candlelight vigil on December 1. The large AIT community attending the on-campus ceremony stood united against such terror in a spirit of solidarity and peace.
